For more than 25 years, I’ve been following my passion for environmental conservation, nature photography and mindfulness. I am the founder and lead teacher at Nature Meditations: The Art of Mindfulness where my current work brings together nature-based mindfulness practices with a love of nature photography grounded in a sense of reverence and appreciation for the natural world. My current focus is on leading a weekly “Photo Challenge” that explores life at the intersection of nature, mindfulness and photography. My full bio…
Exploring the Awe and Wonder of Life
At the Intersection of
Nature, Mindfulness and Photography
Photo challenges are a fun and exciting way to hone your photography skills, learn new techniques, and find inspiration. In this community, we have fun with the concept of the “photo challenge” by exploring mindfulness concepts together, and then discovering our own individual voices for expressing what that concept means to each of us by making mindfulness inspired nature photos and sharing them with our community.
I teach mindfulness in the insight meditation tradition and am the founder and guiding teacher of Nature Meditations: The Art of Mindfulness. I have been teaching since 2009 in public and private settings, both online and in-person, offering classes and series-courses in nature-based mindfulness, insight meditation, environmental sustainability, and conservation photography. I have supported meditation communities at Awake in the Wild, Vallecitos Mountain Retreat Center, and Spirit Rock Meditation Center. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and can be found hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing on the trails and in the mountains of the Desert Southwest. Friends and students would say that I have a grounded, down-to-earth presence and approach to teaching.
